Cab-Bike "Speedster" Option The result of our hard work during the last two years is our "Speedster" !! The "Speedster" is an option consisting of a very low bonnet and a low top tail, which allow all Cab-Bike fans to cycle with the head feeling the fresh wind and at a higher speed. It is nice for people cycling during the sommer time and for the strong guys wanting to cycle at a fast speed. We developed the "Speedster" based on our speriances on the racing track. A small and fine frontal area just means a much higher speed using the same amount of power. We have presented the "Speedster" at the special bike show SPEZI on 26th -27th April 2003 in Germersheim/Germany. According to our modular engineering the "Speedster" bonnet and top tail can be assembled on any of the Cab-Bikes delivered to our clients. You can order the "Speedster" option immediately to allow you not only to enjoy the summer time but also to be a bit faster on the road. |

Trip in Australia Rosanna Falco (56) and German Eslava (58) have travelled with a velomobile tandem through part of Australia (the 5th continent). Their trip extended for a period of time of three an a half months along New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania. The not so young velomobile drivers wanted to show that it is possible to move themself as normal tourists without the need of hiring or purchasing a car even when making a long trip through Australia. When travelling through a new country there are a lot of unkonown difficulties to cope with. Not only they had to ride on the other side of the road, to speak a different language but also to adapt themselfs to another way of life. But it had to be demostrated that a velomobile can be used as a full vehicle for a different type of mobility. The long trip started in Sydney and went allong the coast road till Melbourne. Afterwards it continue through the mid of Tasmania till the very south of Van Dims Land. The way back was allong the east coast towards Devonport. Unfortunatly in Bichenon some technical problems stopped the riders. Nevertheless the trip extended itself for a total of 2.500 km. It may not sound too much but for Rosanna was a lot since she had never cycled on a recumbent in her life. Due to the fact that the tandem was just a prototype a lot of technical problems oblidged the cyclist to make repairs on their tandem for a total of 5 weeks. Illnesses also was part of the game and took the riders another 2 weeks away from their holiday. |

BAGS
The Cab-Bike has been developed as a
solution to the mobility problem for commuting between home and work.
Also one nice advantage of the Cab-Bike is that it can be used for
"active" holiday trips. For all these activities and uses
special internal bags have been developed in Italy. The presented
items are small and large bags which are fixed on both internal side
walls of the Cab-Bike.
The small bags have been developed
for daily usage and are fixed on the corresponding internal Cab-Bike
side walls. These bags offer places for carrying one water bottle, the
mobile phone, the road maps and other small items like a cleaning-rag
and the purse.
The large bags or suitcases have
been developed for transporting the cyclist's items on long weekends
or during the holidays. These suitcases have enough internal space for
the needed clothing and personal items. They have also external
devices for carrying a water-bottle, a mobile phone, the purse and
some road maps. These large bags can be extracted easily out of the
Cab-Bike. They have soft handles which allows simple carrying. |
Transport
If
you have to bring your Cab-Bike for long trips with you, then
there are always practical solutions to this problem.
For instance German Eslava thought about a simple solution. Because of
his profession he is always travelling with his camper between Italy,
Germany, Austria and Switzerland. For his trips German just simply
takes his Cab-Bike on the standard bike carrier of his camping car.
The bike carrier is made for the transport of 4 bikes with a total
weight of 60 kg. Since the Cab-Bike weights only 32 kg there is not
any problem whatsoever.
For loading the Cab-Bike on the rear carrier German just takes one of
its front wheels off. Therefore only one Allan screw has to be
unscrewed. Then with the help of his wife the Cab-Bike is lifted
onto the bike carrier. To fasten the vehicle just two simple belts are
needed. In this way German is able to have his Cab-Bike for all the
local trips in the different areas.

Another
solution has been implemented by Joachim Ziegler when he has not the
time to make a very long trip with his Cab-bike. He simply loads
With the help of any pedestrian passing, the Cab-Bike can be lifted to
the pick-up. Just two simple belts are needed to fix his nice vehicle
on the loading area of the pick-up.

In cases of need there is always a solution. Heidi Walter and Christian Wagner had to transport two velomobiles. But since they do not have a car any longer (they dont want to contaminate the any more) they just borrowed Christian father´s small car. One velomobile was half put inside from the back of the car. The other just went on the top of the car. Since the Cab-Bike is very light it was not a problem at all !!
